Old Quarry Ocean Adventures
We welcome you to visit one of the most extraordinary places on the coast of Maine. The Deer Isle-Stonington archipelago in Penobscot Bay is a unique and breathtaking area, home to the largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 States, and over 60 uninhabited islands. It is well known to be the destination of choice for kayakers, sailors, campers, and any nature enthusiast.

Our campus has more than a dozen buildings, five of which house public exhibits and collections. All but one of the buildings date from the first half of the 19th century, to authentically recreate the look and feel of a seaport village from the Great Age of Sail. All of the exhibit buildings are rather closely spaced, and it's a lovely place to stroll around. You can have your picnic lunch on the grounds, or simply cross the street for good restaurant fare or snacks.

Rackliffe Pottery Workshop & Showroom
Beautiful, durable pottery is our goal Our pottery style is one of classic pottery made from native clay, shaped on a potter's wheel, gloriously colored with lead-free glazes, and fired to 2100 degrees. Our designs come from the world around us: blueberry, cranberry and wild rose, leaves and animals of land and sea.
