BATH, Maine (AP) ― The American Planning Association has named Bath's bustling Front Street as one of the nation's top 10 downtown streets.

The Washington-based group on Wednesday released its annual 10 Great Streets, 10 Great Neighborhoods and 10 Great Public Spaces lists.

The association said Front Street is one of Maine's "architectural treasures," permeated by the city's shipbuilding and maritime tradition.

Bath was the only place in New England named to the list of great streets.
