Maine and all of New England share a unique rich and hard heritage from the sea, harvesting, shipping and working the sea. It is mostly history now. The government has made lawyers a manditory part of any boats crew and the tree huggers want to turn the fishing industry into a bunch of glass bottom boats to take tourists out on the water I fished commercially for almost 20 years. It is now regulated so much that the only profit left in fishing is a government job. I work in a woodshop now.
