Some travelers have always kept travel logs. Our guests from California were good enough to share their "modern travel log" with us. We count the referals from this couple in their article: 1. Us (thanks!) 2. Bar Harbor Inn 3. Bass Harbor Headlight 4. Young's Lobster Pound 5. Red Barn Restaurant.
Nice to see how the Maine Coast Welcome Center has made multiple good impressions to our guests. Thank you, Christine & Lorenzo!

Maine Coast Welcome Center - Belfast, Maine
On our way to Bar Harbor, we drove passed this little information center, we decided to stop by for some recommendation to any local good eat and attractions. We thought we were just going in to crab some pamphlets, but out of our surprised, this lovely couple who run a really beautiful center gave us such warm welcome when we came in. They gave us great tips for where to visit and great recommendation for all the great places to eat around Bar Harbor and even Augusto. If you ever travel passed Maine, stop by Maine Coast Welcome Center, this lovely couple, oh, and their cute pet dog, will be there welcome you in.

Bass Harbor Head lighthouse - Mount Desert Island, Maine
Young's Lobster Pound - Belfast, Maine
Yes oh mighty, we were finally here!! Famous Young's Lobster Pound. You can't have lobster fresher than this, all seafood here, especially lobster, all came directly from boat to their pound after been fished up.
We got ourselves a 2 1/3 lbder and a 3 lbder, we never ordered lobster this big. we were so excited.
Their famous lobster dinner plate, come with one lobster of your choice, one corn on the cob, some clam and a large dish of butter.
The Red Barn - Augusto, Maine
The couple in the welcome center also highly recommanded this little drive-in place, they said "the Red Barn" served the best and award winning seafood chowder in Maine. The Maine seafood chowder is different than normal new England chowder. They don't use flour to thicken their soup. Some place use potato instead. But in Red Barn, they just used fresh cream, butter, and variety of local Maine seafood, included lobster, clam, shrimp and haddock. This bowl of seafood chowder was only $ 6.25, you got got lots of lobster meat, it featured a whole lobster craw sticked out of your bowl.
Good-bye Maine, you are a truly amazing and beautiful State, we will surely be back to visit again soon.
