7000 Guests Sign Our Register Print E-mail

What a season! 7000 Guests from all 50 states and 64 countries have signed the guest book here at the Maine Coast Welcome Center and been directed to our business partners. To join in, call us at 207-930-3633

We are proud to announce the 7000th guest has signed our guest register at the Maine Coast Welcome Center. Steve and Karen of Boulder, CO arrived via cruise ship to Rockland and drove north toward Acadia, stopping at the Maine Coast Welcome Center. Steve and Karen won FREE lodging at Seawall Motel.

On their quick trip to Acadia, Steve and Karen wanted recommendations for a good stop for lunch so we directed them to the Chart Room and suggested they take a tour of Acadia with one our our partners, Oli’s Trolley or National Park Tours. Our  "Concierge Maps", show them how to find our specific partner locations.

Steve and Karen were the 7000th guests to visit the Maine Coast Welcome Center looking for travel information. When tourists allow us the time to review their travel needs we ask them to sign our guest register, noting where they come from and where they're headed. This gives us the opportunity to qualify their needs and direct them to Places to Stay, Places to Eat, and Things to DO. Our guests love the service, commenting "Thank you so much for helping us find the just right place to stay. You saved us time, so now we can enjoy Maine!”

Guests visit multiple areas as they tour. We provide them information about our partners from Freeport to Eastport.

Steve and Karen visited us again on their way South. "Maine is spectacular! We will be back next summer and we'll visit the Maine Coast Welcome Center again. Thanks!"

The Maine Coast Welcome Center is located on Route One in Belfast.

To join the partners we'll talk about next season, call us at 207-930-3633.

Debate Boils Over Harvest Break as Maine Potato Tradition Fades Print E-mail

harvest
Jim's comment: This is my family in the 60's at the harvest. I remember this as a fun family time and it contributed to the local economy as we took our hard earned money to local stores to buy school clothes. Another sign of changing times. (I was going to start with "back when I was a boy", but I feel old enough already. Oh, can you guest which is me? )

Welcoming our 6000th Guest ! Print E-mail

6000-800 The Maine Coast Welcome Center is seeing continued strong tourist traffic during this fall season. This week the 6000th guest signed our guest register !

Denny & Penny Russell of North Carolina became the 6000th guests to sign our register on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The Russell’s are visiting Maine on a fall vacation and needed a place to stay, a place to eat, and things to do while on the Maine coast, so they stopped in at the Maine Coast Welcome Center and were assisted by our top travel advisor, Carol Williams. Our 6000th guests were awarded a place to stay, a place to eat, and a thing to do!

Carol made reservations for the Russell’s at one of our local Belfast partners, the Colonial Gables Oceanfront Village, and provided gift certificates toward dinner at Papa J's & the Lobster Bar Restaurant, and shopping at Mainely Pottery.

Carol says: “We knew we were about to hit the 6000th mark soon, so the anticipation was almost too much! Patti & I spent the day wondering who would be the lucky person. When the Russell’s arrived, the expression on their faces was priceless!”

The Maine Coast Welcome Center partners with local businesses to promote tourism on the Maine coast from Freeport to Eastport.

Here's what our "6000th" Business Partners have to say:

"It has been a pleasure working with the folks at the Maine Coast Welcome Center this year. They have done a great job of promoting our Restaurant and Campground. We look forward to many more seasons of partnering with them."

Jim & Ekco Baker of Papa J’s & the Lobster Bar Restaurant & Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort

“Great job helping people find out what’s so special about our Belfast area. Congratulations Carol, Jim & Patti!”

Jamie & Jeannette, Your neighbors at Mainely Pottery

“Thanks for sending us these nice guests. With the Maine Coast Welcome Centers referals, we're up sigificantly over last year!”

Ed Morin, Colonial Gable Oceanside Village
